I Rank Every U.S. Airport (That I’ve travelled to)
No one asked for this, and this is so far out of my scope of content, but I was flying home from the holidays, and I got hit with a 2-hour delay that stacked on top my already 2-hour layover and decided to make a running list of how I feel about every airport to which I’ve travelled. I have travelled internationally for weightlifting competitions, military orders and a single mission trip when I was thirteen, so I do have some experience internationally, but being that the last trip I’ve ever flown was in 2021 out of Rota, Spain during my separation from the Navy, and even before that was in 2015, I have so little to say.
So this list is essentially my running thoughts of what I think about every airport both from past and current experiences. I will update my perceptions as I continue to fly. Enjoy, or hate my opinions. I don’t care.
St. Louis, Missouri (STL)
Ugly, Dirty, Out-of-date, Overcrowded, Uncomfortable
This happens to be the airport that I was stuck in for the 4-hour layover that inspired me to create this list, but the annoyance of a slight delay did not affect this ranking. This was my first layover here, so I looked at public’s perception of it, and came out with so few information, with most being nine years ago (2015). I then decided to see how it stacked up against other airports. The answer? it was almost bottom of the list.
St. Louis has out of touch art, dirty floors, dirtier bathrooms, few food offerings, terrible seating, and slow wi-fi. I think the last uplift here was performed in the late 2000s, and even then, it was obsolete on arrival. The terminal seemingly copied its aesthetic from a hospital room, but without the cleanliness.
Reddit posts I checked from 2015 about this place pointed to the disgustings bathrooms, and that seemingly hasn’t changed. Which is weird because, a cleaner was stationed outside early in my stay, and I went and came back later, nothing had changed. Stalls were wet and covered in trash.
